================================================================================== Software Kit v3.03-00 Copyright (c) 1994-2000 Mylex Corporation. ================================================================================== - Place a 1.44MB DOS or Windows formatted diskette in drive A: - Double-Click on the file "mdacnw.exe" - Follow the instructions on the screen NetWare 4.2 & 5.x Following files will be extracted on the floppy disk. 05/09/00 10:07a 5,252 MDAC.DDI 09/20/00 08:47a 199,048 MDAC.HAM - When using NetWare 4.2 with the DOS ASPIDAC.SYS driver, you must shutdown the system before exchanging the CD media. If this is not done the media will not be recognized. - NetWare 4.2 will fail to install if the CD-ROM is attached to an AcceleRAID 352, eXtremeRAID 2000, or eXtremeRAID 3000 controller. To install NetWare 4.2, attach the CD-ROM to an HBA, IDE or other controller. - The Operating System drivers included in this Software kit v3.03-00 support Mylex controllers with 4.x firmware or later. - If you are currently using an existing version of GAM Server, Mylex recommends that you do not uninstall this version prior to upgrading to the version included on this SWKIT CD. With the old version still installed and running, just insert the SWKIT CD and run the new setup.exe application by choosing the 'Install Global Array Manager' option from the Main Menu of the Autorun application. Follow the procedures documented in the SWKIT Installation Guide and User Manual to install the GAM Server software. The reason for this is as follows: If an old GAM Server (2.21-xx) is uninstalled and no reboot is performed, installing GAM server from the CD-ROM will result in the GAM Driver not loading on the next reboot. This will not occur if the user installs the new server over the top of the old one while it is still running. If the existing GAM Server has been uninstalled, be sure to reboot the system before installing the new version from this SWKIT CD-ROM or the files which has been down loaded from the Mylex web site. - If the GAM Server & Workstation Array Manager are installed on the same system and one of them is uninstalled, the other will no longer work because the GAM Driver will get uninstalled. - The Global Array Manager Server is not supported on Windows 9x.
